A thank you letter from Jeff Turnbull was read to the membership.
  • Committee Expense Deadline – All expenses are due in to Tammy by March 31.

3.  Activities Update:

  • Kindergarten DVD Sales – Forms are going out on Friday for DVD sales of the February 28 musical.

  • Centerfield Park – Fundraiser will be on Saturday, March 29 from 10a-2p.
  • Family Reading Night- March 13 from 6-8pm.  This will be a free Moye Family Event with a Harry Potter theme.  We will have events throughout the building including a sorting hat, “potions class”, mystical creatures, trivia, quill making, face painting, quiddich games, and snacks of chocolate frogs, licorice wands, and Bernie Botts Beans.  Moye staff will be assisting with the event and we are asking for volunteers from the ROTC to help too.
  • Spring Fling – We will be giving each Moye Student a free armband this year.  Siblings and other guests will purchase their own armbands.  Scout groups will be running food booths and will share their profits with us.  So far, we expect to have cotton candy, popcorn, nacho, and funnel cake booths.  The PTO will offer a hot dog meal deal, and pulled pork sandwiches.  We plan to have 38 games, and we will need many volunteers to make this day work.
  • School supplies – Jane Becker is checking into new options for next year’s vendor.

4    501c3 Update – Our status has been approved! It is already being used for our Wal Mart Grant application and in setting up next year’s auction.  This will also give companies tax credits for their donations, which we hope will cause an increase in donations for our upcoming events.

  • New Business
  • Smokey Bones Fundraiser – Will be held on May 7.  We are looking into whether they will need volunteers.
  • Valentine’s Day Parties – We will give our kids water instead of juice boxes and will recycle the bottles.  Kelly West volunteered her peace ambassadors to collect the recycling.

  • Child Safety Class – A presenter from SWIC will be coming to Moye to speak to Parents on internet safety and how to teach kids to keep themselves safe.  This computer safety class will be scheduled sometime before the end of the year.
  • McTeachers Night – March 5 from 4-8p will be Moye McTeachers Night at the McDonalds in O’Fallon.  Proceeds will go to the Character Ed program.
  • KIP Camp – Will run June 2-5 and 9-12, from 9a-12p at Marie Schaeffer.  Registration will be held on April 30 for O’Fallon district 90 students, on May 1, registration will open to all others.  The PTO will provide 20 scholarships to KIP Camp this year.  Nominations are being taken from teachers, based on either merit or on merit and financial need.
  • Book Fair – Wendy Bione attended the recent book fair workshop and has some new and useful ideas for our program.  Our next fair will be held April 14-18.  We discussed and are looking into options on how we want to spend the profit we currently have on account with scholastic.  We will follow up on this at our next meeting.
  • Fun Spot Night – Will be on February 24 from 5-7pm.  Moye will have the entire rink to ourselves.  Tickets will be sold through Friday, Feb. 21.  The $10.00 price includes admission, skates, and a snack.  We will put this information in the classroom newsletters.
