General Meeting

December 11, 2007 – 7:00pm Library

Minutes

1.  Minutes from the November 13 meeting were presented and reviewed.  Julie Ziegler motioned to approve the minutes, the motion was seconded and the minutes were approved by the membership.

2.   The Treasurer’s report was presented and reviewed.  Wendy Bione motioned to approve the            report; the motion was seconded and passed by the membership. 

3.  Committee Reports:

• Auction – Julie reported a tremendous success this year with an expected profit of around $55,000 once all funds are settled.
• Cold Hands Warm Hearts – Have almost filled the tree with donations, the items will be collected and the tree taken down on December 20.
• Staff Wish Tree – Is located in the library.  Please take the tags with you as you make your choices for teacher’s gifts.
• Santa’s Cottage – Is going very well and will run 11:00–3:00 on Wednesday, and 9:00-3:00 Thursday and Friday.
• DVD Sales – 2nd grade musical will be on December 19.  Loren Duffy has purchased a new digital video camera for $505.00 to capture our performances.  He will need 3 people to help record the musical, and volunteers to help with DVD sales.  He will also look into purchasing a digital sound recorder for us too.
• Evening at Santa’s – Will be held Wednesday, December 12 from 6-8pm.  We will have Santa in the library, Mrs. Claus telling stories in the music room, and hot chocolate, cookie decorating, and a letter writing station in the cafeteria.  Elves and Madrigal Singers from the high school will be around for entertainment and assistance.  This is a free event and reminder flyers will be sent home tomorrow.

4.  Budget Review – Reviewed the proposed budget in detail and discussed several items including:  making Spring Fling armbands free to Moye students this year; labels vs. stamps for our new envelope process; teacher gift cards; providing some Kip fees for some students; and a new poster making system.  Extra items considered for future addition included: earth day program funding; a digital audio recorder; and kindergarten chair covers. Wendy Bione moved to approve the proposed budget, the motion was seconded, and themembership voted to approve the budget.
    
5.  New Business

• Chevy’s Fundraiser will be held on January 9 from 4-8pm.

Congratulations to our door prize winner this month – Jen Gaab.

Meeting adjourned at 8:45 pm – there were 19 members in attendance.

The next PTO meeting will be held on February 12 at 12:00 in the Intermediate Art Room
