General Membership Meeting Minutes
January 9, 2007
- Meeting called to order at 11.35am by President Kathy Smitherman, in the intermediate art room.
- Minutes from the December meeting were read, Robert Lawton moved to accept the minutes, and the motion was seconded and approved.
- The Treasurer’s Report was presented. Kerry Scinta moved to approve the report, it was seconded and the report was approved. Ballots for the election of a new treasurer were passed out, and members cast their votes.
- Committee Reports
- 4th Grade Musical – Had 70 DVD orders with 62 pre-orders at $8.00 each, and 8 post-orders at $12.00 each. After expenses, they reported a profit of $474.73. The membership agreed that we should continue this program for future events. Plans were discussed to get video taping permission forms into beginning of the year packets. DVDs of the musical will be ready next week.
- Recycling Program – We are awaiting an update on this program from Dan Crum.
- Santa’s Cottage – Kathy Swartzenberg reported a profit of over $500.00. We had terrific volunteer support! Kathy is going to get feedback from the volunteers as to how things went in order to get ideas for running the cottage next year. Options for next year’s event were discussed.
- Budget Disbursement – Teachers have been given their gift cards, and many “Thank You” notes have been received from them. Teams have been given their dollar amounts. Other budgeted items are being researched and purchased.
- 501c3 Update –We are still awaiting information on requirements. Volunteers are needed to help with this process and to assist in filing the necessary forms. We also need volunteers who have accounting experience who can assist us in these matters.
- Family Reading Night – Kathy Becherer presented a handout with information on the upcoming event. It will be held on February 21 from 6:00 – 8:00pm. There will be a guest storyteller, author Marilyn Kinsella, after which there will be an hour for art, author presentations, cookies, shopping, and a safety program. Door prizes will also be awarded. Volunteers are requested to assist in preparing for this event. Please contact Kathy at 632-5757.
- News Letter – Will go out on January 22, please submit any information to be included to Tanya Scherschel no later than January 19.
- Spring Fling – Will be held on April 27 from 5:30-8:00pm. Volunteers are needed for ticket sales, games, set-up, prize patrol, and everything else related to this fun event. Please contact Kelly Cooper to donate your time at 345-2933.
- New Business
- Robert Lawton informed us that the O’Fallon Public Safety Committee is forming a sub-committee to look into promoting the safety of our children in walking to school. We will be updated as their inquiry progresses.
- Chevy’s Fundraiser – On January 25, Moye will receive 15% on the total sales of those who present their Chevy’s Moye night Coupon. Proceeds are also available on take-out and bar items. Coupons must be presented to give Moye credit on the purchase. They will be sent home to students and their families, and may be passed along to others. Additional coupons will be available at the restaurant’s hostess stand, but Coupons May Not Be Distributed By Us While At The Restaurant.
- Ballots for the vote on a new treasure were collected and counted. Congratulations to our new treasurer - Tammy Shirtz!
- Allison Rhodes requested any remaining photos to be submitted for the yearbook to be sent to her no later than January 22.
- Kerry Scinta won this month’s door prize.
Meeting was adjourned at 12:45pm.
Next meeting will be held February 13, at 11.30AM
