Welcome!

The PTO at Moye is an organization of parents and teachers whose goal is to make Moye the best learning environment possible for our kids. Our children spend over 7 hours a day here, so it makes sense that we want it to be a great place for them. We have a very active PTO and our school has benefited because of our efforts. Part of what we do is raise money to support our kids and teachers with the supplies they need for a successful year. We have raised thousands of dollars to put books in the library, materials in the classrooms, and improve the playground. We have many programs and events that the PTO funds throughout the year, which means you will have many opportunities to get involved and help.  We encourage you to consider what you can do to help your child’s school.

2008-09 School Year Begins!

During its five years in existence, the Moye School Parent Teacher Organization not only has given parents an opportunity to get involved with their children’s school, but it also has raised and donated several thousand dollars to Moye.  That money has been used to acquire items which help teachers teach, help students learn, help build school unity and help make our facility more functional and appealing.

Moye’s PTO manages several events throughout the school year.  Its primary fundraiser is a dinner and auction event held each November.  But many other activities contribute to the PTO’s success, and in turn, Moye’s ability to excel (a list of committee descriptions is available for download here).

The key to our PTO, obviously, is the participation of parent volunteers.  Whether you are a working parent or a full-time parent, there is a place for you in our organization.  From chairing the auction committee to counting soup labels and box tops in your home, there are various ways you can contribute.  Please complete the volunteer sign-up form and let us know how you might like to be involved.

PTO general membership meetings are generally scheduled for the second Tuesday of each month, beginning September 9th, with the exception of November.  November’s meeting will be held on the first Wednesday which is the 5th.  A few of the nine meetings will be held during the afternoon; however, most meetings will begin at 7pm. Regardless of your level of volunteerism, we welcome your attendance and your ideas at these meetings.

Thank you for your interest in the Moye School PTO.  If you need more information or want to share ideas or input with our organization, feel free to contact any of the 2008-2009 PTO board members.
